It all started with my mom. As a kid, I would sit in the kitchen for hours together and watch her bake, decorate and craft cakes for our family birthdays (trust me when I say we are a big Fat Indian family, so this was almost every weekend). Being a creative kid who was keen on drawing, painting, sketching, sculpting etc. I was mesmerised by her remarkable creations. Elaborate and delicate floral on five-tier cake structures will always attract a kid like me. I still remember how I wanted to be just like her once I grew up. 

After being heavily inspired by my mother I ended up baking cakes as a hobby and continued on the weekends for family and friends. After completing my Chartered Accountancy, I had a full-on career in the field for several years, but in 2009, I started daydreaming about a career change. My husband came to me with the idea of creating an online cake store & delivering to people’s doorsteps. There weren’t many online cake stores at the time. Employing recipes passed down by my mom I started, “Cakes by Cherry”. Now we also plan events which create memories like nothing else. Our squad consists of myself, my husband, our assistant baking team and our event planning team. Together we’ve been working hard on building our dreams and creating memories for our clients.
